Paul is the father of ice swimming in Romania. He is a world record holder for his 3.51km ice mile.
- He achieved the Frosted Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming in February 2019.
- On 28 May 2022, he won the skins division and was 3rd overall in the 7.5 km Battle of Carlingford Lough Swim in Ireland in 1:31:45.
- On 25 August 2022, he completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland in 11 hours 7 minutes 3 seconds at the age of 44.
- He is certified as an IISA Official Observer L1 as of 1 March 2022.
- In December 2021, he started the Romanian Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming challenge.
- In December 2021, he established the Ice Swimming & Open Water Romania Association.
- On 6 August 2017, he won the 30th edition 26.4 km Sri Chinmoy Marathon Swim (International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen) in Switzerland's Lake Zürich in 7 hours 11 minutes 37 seconds.
- He made two attempts to cross the English Channel in 2016.
- On 1 August 2016, he did not complete his first attempt.
- On 14 September 2016, the 37-year-old Georgescu became the fastest Romanian to cross the English Channel in 13 hours 36 minutes in a charity swim for Light into Europe.
- On 16 August 2018, he completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 9 hours 8 minutes 16 seconds at the age of 40.
- On 25 August 2018, he finished second in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Manhattan Island Swim in New York in 8 hours 3 minutes 37 seconds at the age of 40 to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
- He was a member of the Steaua Bucharest Waterpolo Team, a Junior National Champion, a Senior National Champion, and won the Romanian Cup.
- He competed as a professional water polo player in the German Premier Water Polo League playing for SGW Frankfurt.
- He is a sports professor at the International British School of Bucharest (IBSB), a physical therapist, a triathlon instructor, a water polo referee, and in addition to this regularly participates in triathlons, running events, and swimming events around Romania.
- On 4 February 2019, he completed an Ice Mile at the Daimon Club in Bucharest, Romania in 3.02°C water and 8.00°C air temperatures in 22 minutes 43 second with observer Ger Kennedy and witness Iulian Zamfir. He joined the Frosted Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming with this Ice Mile,
- He finished 5th overall in the Ice Kilometer at the 3rd International Ice Swimming Association World Championship held in Murmansk, Russia in March 2019.
- He won the 500m freestyle at the IISA 3rd World Championship in Murmansk, Russia in March 2019.
- He finished 7th overall in the International Ice Swimming Association's first IISA World Cup Series in 2019.
- In April 2019, he finished a 42 km crossing of the Molokai Channel from Molokai Island to Oahu in 13 hours 6 minutes.
- On 27 August 2019, he was a member of ROMANIA 2019 a six-person Romanian open water swimming relay that included Andreena Albu, Sergiu Denis Deznan, Ana Nanau, Alice Gabriela Perjoiu, and Anton Dimcea Zamfir that crossed the 33.5 km English Channel from England to France on 27 August 2019 in 10 hours 25 minutes with escort pilot Stuart Gleeson and observer Andrew King and received the 2019 Channel Swimming Association Awards for the Fastest Mixed Relay Team and the Fastest Relay Team.
- On 23 February 2020, he completed an Ice Mile in Hanusee Bay, Antarctica in 0.6°C water, covering 1.00 mile as part of the Antarctica 2020 International Swim in 22 minutes 44 seconds.
- On 15 August 2020, he completed the 104.089 km Iron Gates of the Danube Swim with escort pilot Miroslav Ianculouici and observer Florin Tomos on a 21 hour 40 minute marathon swim that started in Moldova Nouă at 4:38 am on 14 August 2020 and finished at 2:18 am on 15 August 2020 in Orsova, Romania.
- On 10 February 2021, he set a world record by swimming 3.51 km in 4.3°C water, officiated by Petar Stoychev in Complex Sportiv Snagov, Snagov Lake, Romania.
- On 1 July 2021, he swam 100 km in the Complexul Sportiv Lia Manoliu pool in Bucharest, Romania in 34 hours 42 minutes 46 seconds.
