Motivation:
Nomination of Elaine Howley for the International Ice Swimming Hall of Fame
It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Elaine Howley for induction into the International Ice Swimming Hall of Fame. Elaine is an accomplished ice swimmer and influential advocate for the sport. For over a decade, she has been inspiring and supporting individuals to pursue their ice swimming dreams, while actively promoting the International Ice Swimming Association and its mission.
Elaine\'s achievements in ice swimming are remarkable. She was among the early pioneers of the Ice Mile, completing her first in 2012 and another in 2023. She also showcased her dedication to the sport by completing an Ice Kilometer at the inaugural USA International Ice Swimming Nationals in Chantilly, Virginia.
Elaine’s impact extends far beyond her personal accomplishments. She has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the growth of ice swimming in the Greater Boston area and throughout the Eastern United States. Her influence as a journalist has brought ice swimming to a global audience, inspiring countless swimmers to take the plunge.
Elaine’s leadership, passion, and contributions to the sport make her an ideal candidate for the International Ice Swimming Hall of Fame. Her dedication has helped shape the ice swimming community and foster its growth worldwide. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Elaine Howley for this prestigious honor.
