Motivation:Fergil has been a dedicated ice swimmer since 2016 when he joined various IISA events and started promoting Ice swimming in the Netherlands.
Fergil has been a top competitor in the 1000m for several years, earning him many age groups and overall category podiums.
Fergil has completed five ice miles; one was at an altitude of 3300m in the mountain of Lesotho, Africa. He completed the ice mile in 21:51 minutes despite the altitude.
Fergil also completed 20 Ice Km in IISA Competitions, many of which earned him an Age Group world record and event record.
Although Fergil was nominated as a swimmer, he has also done much for ice swimming in the Netherlands. He practically put the Netherlands on the Ice swimming map with events, education and promotion of swimmers.
Fergal has been particularly concerned about adherence to ice swimming safety and integrity rules throughout his career.
